kcodyjr
Just received my pair of ML120 PRO fans. They're going on a radiator. When I turn them by hand, they feel pretty stiff. Not locked up, but if it was a brake, I'd think I'd set the shoes too tight. Is this normal?
c-attack
No. I few finger twirls will cause it to spin for several seconds (in either direction) with a very soft amount of bearing noise. Both fans do this?
kcodyjr
No, it's just the one. The other spins freely as you describe. Sounds like I've got a bad one, then?
c-attack
I think so. Exchange through vendor if you can. Otherwise RMA through Corsair.
kcodyjr
Charming. Amazon is always SO eager to be helpful about that sort of thing. Thank you, c-attack.
c-attack
Really? Have you had bad experiences with them? When I need a replacement, I usually get within 48 hours from Amazon. That speed and no additional costs are the only reasons to go with the vendor. Or on the off chance you actually still have a computer store in your neighborhood. Corsair won't be 2 day express shipping a new fan from CA to MA.
kcodyjr
Actually, I hadn't used their automated return system until now. I've had *terrible* experiences in the past dealing with them over the phone. It was like trying to pull teeth. I don't even remember what I was returning, it was so long ago. The automated system wasn't bad, and the fact that they're willing to ship the replacement first is kinda nice - I can just use the same box, and since UPS comes to our office every day, I won't even need to go anywhere. So, okay, it's *possible* that my grumbling is no longer justified. ;)
