Hydro X system - CPU + Half Pump LEDs not working

Good Day all,

I acquired a new Hydro X system from PCSpecialist. When it arrived the system worked perfectly and had no faults. However after the ICUE software updated (3rd update since having it) the LEDS on the CPU and half of the LEDs on the Reservoir Pump no longer turn on.

Originally I thought it was a software issue, as it coincided with the ICUE update. However after 2 more updates and a full uninstall and reinstall of the version 3.17.94, it is also the current version I have installed.

To give a complete overview, after the first update the LEDs flickered (All LEDs) then eventually settled down.

After the second, only the CPU LEDs and half the Reservoir Pump LEDs flickered then settled down. This eventually turned into them staying off until about 15 minutes after booting on. They then turned back on and stayed on.

The most recent update though has just left them turned off.

So overall I know they work as I have seen them working, so it still leads me to believe it is a software issue.

Has anyone else come across this?

It's unlikely to be a software issue. When you install a new version of iCUE, it doesn't do anything to the LEDs other than tell them to display the software profile lighting pattern. It should already be showing you something from the saved hardware lighting when the program isn't running. Either way, there haven't been any LED changes to Hydro X stuff.

One thing that might cause this condition is if you have stamped your current lighting with iCUE 3.29 and then tried to roll back to 3.17. Software profiles are not backwards compatible. It would likely show you as having no software profiles, but the 3.29 stamped ones would still be in the App Data folder, potentially causing issues since they can't be read.

Quit iCUE then go to C:Users/(name)/App Data (hidden)/Roaming and cut and paste that folder to the desktop. Uninstall iCUE and check the box to delete user settings. Install a more recent iCUE 3.28 or 3.29 (whatever you used before) and see if the lights respond with a clean slate. You will need to set-up your lighting again for Hydro X and fans. I would be careful about replacing the old Corsair folder back into the Roaming slot. If it is some type of file corruption, you will have to delete it and start again.

If none of that makes any difference, you are probably looking at power delivery problem somewhere in the pump to 5v line to LED chain of wires. Contact Corsair Support through the Ticket System.
