DataRaven
Does anyone have any tips for removing these combs once applied to a psu cable? I've tried using my fingernails so far, but there has to be a better way.
mstat
I have the same question: does anyone know how to remove the combs that come preattached to the cables? It looks like they are supposed to be able to separate by pulling from both sides, but I can’t find any instructions on how to do so and didn’t want to force them if that’s not the right way to take them off. Any help would be appreciated.

Micro_Chimp
So you need to be very delicate with doing this so you don't ruin the comb. Basically take a thin razor blade and gently wedge it between a cap and the center piece. The posts that hold the pieces together have 'scales' so they bite into the plastic. DON'T USE A SAWING MOTION!! This will just cut into the soft plastic! Instead use a prying motion to get the blade wedged into the gap. Once you get enough space switch to a tiny screwdriver to make the gap larger. You should be able to get one post out with the lever approach, then with your fingers just gently rotate 180° the cap that doesn't have the posts and then pull apart. There you go!!
