H100x Cooling CPU fan question

Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone can assist me, ive recently just installed this cooler and I use HWmonitor to track temps etc and I noticed my CPU fan is sitting at 4000rpm which seems way too fast, I checked in bios and its the same and trying a custom fan curve doesn't affect the value at all.

Is this a dummy value or is my PC about to take off? It sounds very quiet if anything I can hear my 1500rpm fans the most so I have a feeling I know the answer but just want a little reassurance.

Thanks in advance

It’s measuring pump revolutions in raw form. You can divide that by 2 to turn it back into the “normal” user expected pump speed. Fan speed will be measured wherever they are connected.

The H100x should get its power from SATA and not the MB fan header. The pump speed is fixed and the line to cpu fan will invoke the “CPU fan error” if the device becomes electrically inactive. However, it is not essential to basic functionality and there is no control there.
