  1. It would be interesting to know what happens if you only have one stick installed in B2? Does it behave the same as in A2?

Unless you pulled/broke a pin off or damaged the socket. I think you will be ok.

With your system running on one stick in A2 at DDR4-2933 can you provide a screen shot of

    Ryzen_Timing_Checker_1.05 ?

    one stick in A2 at DDR4-2933: https://imgur.com/a/ZSr6Uem

I also tried one stick in B2, the system will not boot and the mobo DRAM debug LED stays lit

  2. I was having trouble installing the stock cooler because it was too tight. So I accidentally lifted the cooler off with the cpu. Huge beginner mistake.

But everything worked fine till this point, so I kinda forgot about it. So it might be related to damaged CPU/mobo pin from what I read.

Could end up to be a very costly mistake, Im not sure yet :(

  3. I tried to put a single ram in A2 slot and using xmp profile 2, I was able to successfully increase the speed to 2933mhz!

I tested both ram separately and both worked as a single ram at 2933mhz. But when I used both ram at the same time, Im not able to change the frequency anymore, its stuck at 2133mhz.

    Any idea why?

EDIT: voltage also changed automatically to 1.35v: https://imgur.com/a/8M2Kdoh

So everything works as a single ram but not both :(

  4. sry, I forgot the scroll down, i think this is the voltage setting? https://imgur.com/a/jGuDqHm

So I changed to 1.35v and 2400mhz as suggested, restart, but still at 2133mhz: https://imgur.com/a/afKXrn3

Took a screenshot of Advanced dram configuration screen (did not change anything):https://imgur.com/a/bFSOq1V

    any idea? thanks

Edit: I just noticed that the ddr voltage did not change either: https://imgur.com/a/O1EY6BF

still at 1.2 and not the 1.35v where i set it, is that normal?

  5. So i went to restore default in setting: https://imgur.com/a/YNM85Do

This is what it looks like after: https://imgur.com/a/8xUKPrJ

Basically i enabled xpm profile 2, restart, but nothing changed still shows 2133mhz in bios and cpuz https://imgur.com/a/6aefAPx

Then I tried to set different speed and timing in "memory try it", basically from 2400 to 2933, neither the frequency nor the timing changed from the default 2133, 15-15-15-36 https://imgur.com/a/OaupcGX

I also tried to manually set different dram freq from 2400 to 2933, again nothing changed

I dont know the dram voltage is but according to corsair product website: "Tested Voltage: 1.35V" listed under spec https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories/Products/Memory/VENGEANCE-LPX/p/CMK16GX4M2B3000C15#tab-tech-specs

I also check mobo website (https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/B450-TOMAHAWK-MAX#support-mem-14) ram CMK16GX4M2B3000C15 is also listed as 1.35v

    What should I try next?

  6. So I updated my mobo bios, made sure that ram is in a2 and b2 slot.

Tried to change the frequency and timing both manually and through the memory try it option. I also tried using ryzen master to change my memory clock speed. But nothing changed, its stayed at 1066 mhz and 15-15-15-36 no matter what i changed

I dont know much about overclocking, nor do i want to. But if any1 has something else for me to try, I will. and no, I dont have a different pair of ram. I could purchase a new pair, but that means I just wasted $80 on this one
