  1. I forgot the ask if I can try to put the ram in other slots like A1 and B1, any chance that could work? Also, do you know any tools that I could use to detect bent pins in cpu/mobo? thanks
  2. If both sticks work as a single ram, doesn't that mean its more likely a problem caused by cpu or mobo? There is no way to return the ram, but I like to narrow down the problem before I try RMA. Otherwise, it could be just a waste of time to RMA a perfectly good ram
  3. So nothing from the dram calc, just keep the part you typed? If so, I reset the number from dram calc to auto in the bios and changed the freq to 2933mhz, but as you can see nothing changed in bios after a restart: https://imgur.com/a/w6Ua5HJ
  4. So i tried my best to enter everything: https://imgur.com/a/bBVuc6j I was able to restart, but I'm not sure anything changed
  5. nope, boots fine with both sticks, no debug led, just couldnt get it to change to anything other than default 2133mhz. But a single stick in A2 works fine at 2933mhz This is what you looking for? single stick in A2 at 2933mhz: https://imgur.com/a/T9K7yBe also my ryzen master screen: https://imgur.com/a/384P8ny
  6. one stick in A2 at DDR4-2933: https://imgur.com/a/ZSr6Uem I also tried one stick in B2, the system will not boot and the mobo DRAM debug LED stays lit
  7. I was having trouble installing the stock cooler because it was too tight. So I accidentally lifted the cooler off with the cpu. Huge beginner mistake. But everything worked fine till this point, so I kinda forgot about it. So it might be related to damaged CPU/mobo pin from what I read. Could end up to be a very costly mistake, Im not sure yet :(
  8. Yes, single kit and unfortunately the return/exchange date has passed. I read somewhere that this could be related the cpu and I might have damaged it during installation. I try to figure this out before I decide to buy a new pair of ram Thanks for all you help
  9. I tried to put a single ram in A2 slot and using xmp profile 2, I was able to successfully increase the speed to 2933mhz! I tested both ram separately and both worked as a single ram at 2933mhz. But when I used both ram at the same time, Im not able to change the frequency anymore, its stuck at 2133mhz. Any idea why? EDIT: voltage also changed automatically to 1.35v: https://imgur.com/a/8M2Kdoh So everything works as a single ram but not both :(
  10. sry, I forgot the scroll down, i think this is the voltage setting? https://imgur.com/a/jGuDqHm So I changed to 1.35v and 2400mhz as suggested, restart, but still at 2133mhz: https://imgur.com/a/afKXrn3 Took a screenshot of Advanced dram configuration screen (did not change anything):https://imgur.com/a/bFSOq1V any idea? thanks Edit: I just noticed that the ddr voltage did not change either: https://imgur.com/a/O1EY6BF still at 1.2 and not the 1.35v where i set it, is that normal?
  11. So i went to restore default in setting: https://imgur.com/a/YNM85Do This is what it looks like after: https://imgur.com/a/8xUKPrJ Basically i enabled xpm profile 2, restart, but nothing changed still shows 2133mhz in bios and cpuz https://imgur.com/a/6aefAPx Then I tried to set different speed and timing in "memory try it", basically from 2400 to 2933, neither the frequency nor the timing changed from the default 2133, 15-15-15-36 https://imgur.com/a/OaupcGX I also tried to manually set different dram freq from 2400 to 2933, again nothing changed I dont know the dram voltage is but according to corsair product website: "Tested Voltage: 1.35V" listed under spec https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories/Products/Memory/VENGEANCE-LPX/p/CMK16GX4M2B3000C15#tab-tech-specs I also check mobo website (https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/B450-TOMAHAWK-MAX#support-mem-14) ram CMK16GX4M2B3000C15 is also listed as 1.35v What should I try next?
  12. So I updated my mobo bios, made sure that ram is in a2 and b2 slot. Tried to change the frequency and timing both manually and through the memory try it option. I also tried using ryzen master to change my memory clock speed. But nothing changed, its stayed at 1066 mhz and 15-15-15-36 no matter what i changed https://imgur.com/a/Y3Eoj6J I dont know much about overclocking, nor do i want to. But if any1 has something else for me to try, I will. and no, I dont have a different pair of ram. I could purchase a new pair, but that means I just wasted $80 on this one
  13. I dont understand why this has to be so complicated, Im not trying to overclock. The Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000MHz is listed as compatible to B450 tomahawk max. Does everyone has to do all these steps just to get corsair ram to work at advertised speed?
  14. do you mean change the dram frequency from auto to 2933 mhz. I tried that and nothing changed and it stayed at 2133
  15. It shows correctly as 16gb with other tools, maybe its just 8gb for single slot? https://imgur.com/a/8IyZyP6
  16. Hi, just finish building my 1st pc. I have the Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB 3000MHz C15, but its only running at 2133 mhz as seen in the bios (https://imgur.com/a/6aefAPx) Anyone know how to fix this?
