  1. I went into settings, forced a restart of iCue services and the fan started going to the right RPM again. I remember it fixed itself for some reason, that must have been why. Doesn't help the faulty port, sadly. That one seems to not work even when iCue isn't even running. It's just awkward when I'm shielding from coronavirus as well as having 6 fans that otherwise will not be powered in my system. My mobo only has so many PWM headers.
  2. I was already dubious when I shut the processes down and removed the file and the fan was already stopping by itself with all processes down. Going back in and setting it to 850 static did seem to fix it for a few minutes. And then it didn't. And it seems slot 1 is also playing up again, not going further than 850. One day I'll build a computer that just works out the box with no issues. I suppose getting a couple of splitters would be an easier job than trying to return something during the current crisis. Thanks for the help.
  3. Fan problem is what I *don't* think it is. Maybe I explained it wrong. Fan 5 was occasionally stopping (Let's call it fan A for clarity). Fan 6 was fine (Fan B). So originally slot 5 is fan A and slot 6 is fan B. Swapping the cables slot 5 is B and slot 6 is A. After swapping the originally stopping Fan A worked fine but now fan B was stopping. That's probably no clearer. It feels more to me that the Commander Pro might be the issue? Port 5 on the commander might be faulty?
  4. Sorry for the late reply. The day after you gave me that suggestion, the fan just started working again and hadn't slowed down since. Until today when it was doing it again. So I switched 5 and 6 around and just noticed 6 is now slowing down. So I can assume it's not a fan problem and instead a Commander Pro problem? [Edit] Saw somewhere changing the SATA cable might help. It didn't. I had originally hooked the commander pro up to the same SATA as my hard drives, so I gave them a cable just for the commander pro and the lighting node core. When I turned the Pc on, the fan in slot 5 was immediately having issues spinning up, as before.
  5. I'm not sure what you mean by a fan test at boot, since I've not seen that option anywhere (I could easily have missed it). Even at a fixed RPM of 1000 fan 5 is occasionally stopping. I'll see it go right to a complete stop, maybe twitch once or twice, then spin up. It'll do it seemingly at random and no other fan comes to a complete stop that I can see. The three intakes on the bottom of the case are noticable because it's right next to me and I see it happen out of the corner of my eye. I've set them all to 4-pin, rebooted my computer and it was doing it still as the computer was booting up. I'm hoping it's not actually faulty since I built this thing a couple of weeks ago and only now over the last 3 or 4 days is it doing it. I'm still new to fan curves and the like, first PC I've built in 10 years. Last one the fans were just 'on', mobo wasn't apparently smart enough to have curves or anything.
  6. Hi everyone. Recently built a Pc with QL fans, commander pro, lighting node core and all that good stuff. I noticed yesterday one of my fans seems to want to switch off and stop for a moment and then spin up again. During gaming I didn't notice it switch off at all, but I've noticed it a bit more now. I figured I'd keep an eye on it and noticed another one is also at a lower RPM than it should be. I changed the profile to be basically maximum RPM at all times and while four of them are at around 1600, the other two are sitting around 1000. Are they faulty or is there something I'm missing?
  7. Right, that's what I was asking. The 9-pin header, does it *need* to connect to the motherboard or can I use one of the ones on the Commander Pro. Maybe I didn't explain it properly in my original question. Yeah looking back I was calling it an RGB Hub instead of its actual product name. That would explain any confusion from what I meant =/
  8. Okay, you've lost me a bit there. My setup is currently. 6x QL 120mm fans I'm waiting on an order of 4x Lighting Pro extensions. The lighting strips I'll deal with when they arrive, but I assume you just connect them up in a line, then at the end connect that to the lighting node on the commander pro. The fans however, they use the lighting core, do they not? I'm just using the Lighting Node Core that came with the three pack https://imgur.com/KWQuNJs That has a SATA cable and a USB cable coming out of it. You're saying I can just hook up that USB cable into the USB header on the Commander Pro, right? As far as I was aware, the Commander Pro only has fan plugs that don't deal with the RGB. And there's nowhere else for the RGB cables to go but the Lighting Node Core. Or am I getting confused and the Lighting Node Core doesn't need USB power at all? I'm just not sure what you mean by "run the lighting node core off the commander pro"
  9. I'm so sorry, I forgot to thank you for everything you've done to help me so far. I have all the stuff now, and I'm 95% of the way there I just have one last question. Can the USB2 cable from the RGB hub go directly into the Commander Pro or does it *need* to be on a USB2 header on the board? And if both USB2s on my board are taken up with the RGB hub and Commander Pro, am I able to use one of the USB2 headers on the Commander Pro for my front panel USB?
  10. Ahh I see, that's different to what I was imagining. I had in my head it was hooking up the 6 fans to one LED node on the Commander Pro, and then using the other for lighting strips. That's good to know. Thanks very much for the link, it was very comprehensive and I don't know how I missed it. BTW are the LS100s designed only as out-of-case ambient lighting, or can they be used in cases as well? I like the difused light look but don't want to buy something not designed for cases or the commander pro.
  11. Hey, everyone! Apologies if this has been answered already, I did a search through and couldn't find anything that exactly matched my issue. Building a new computer and I'd like some RGB strips for it. Buying a Lian Li O11 XL, saying that just to give a sense of the size case I'm using. Currently I'm getting two sets of 3x QL120 fans as well as the Commander Pro to hook it all together for simplicity. I think I can muddle my way through putting all that together when it arrives, but if not...I'll be back here. My question is which strips do I need to buy? I'm assuming not the starter kit because it looks like those are more for outside-of-case placement to provide ambient lighting. I'm looking at the expansion kit https://www.corsair.com/uk/en/Categories/Products/Accessories-%7C-Parts/iCUE-CONTROLLERS/CORSAIR-RGB-LED-Lighting-PRO-Expansion-Kit/p/CL-8930002 Is that literally all I need? Will all of that plug into the Commander Pro's second LED channel without an issue? Or do I need to get a different kit that comes with a different box to hook them up to? Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
