So far so good. Turning off windows 10 "fast boot" option appears to fix the issue I had with the random blinking fan lights. All of the other fixes I tried failed (uninstall/reinstall iCue, re-ordering the fans, forcing an update of the firmware etc.- all worked briefly, then failed) I will update this post if it fails (again).
