zombi
Hey, Just put together a PC with a Gigabyte 770TA, with a Phenom 2 x4 955BE, and for the moment I have 2gb of Corsair DDR3 (part number: VS2GB1333D3). It's listed as Corsair 2GB DDR3 1333MHz Memory Module Unbuffered. Experiencing random reboots. Firstly is this the correct memory to use and if so what settings should I be setting in the BIOS? Should the BIOS set up the correct values if I leave it on auto? Thanks :)
trackrat
The memory shows as approved for AMD Phenom/AM3 applications. Frequency should be set to 666 MHz. and timings are 9-9-9-24 @ 1.5V. Auto detect "should" set to these specs but you can set them manually in the BIOS if needed and confirm them with CPU-Z.
zombi
Yeah CPU-z is showing those timings. It says DRAM frequency is 669.6mhz - is that right? Also says the north bridge is 2009mhz. Where did you find out that it's approved for AM3/Phenom also?
trackrat
Newegg has the memory timing, voltage and application approval listed for this RAM. Yes 669.6 MHz is correct. The 669.6 MHz. is the memory clock frequency which is doubled for DDR thus 669.6 x 2 = 1339 MHz. The 2009 MHz northbridge freq. is correct also. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145246 http://support.amd.com/us/Processor_TechDocs/46878.pdf
zombi
I've been mixing the memory we're talking about with DDR3 8500 rated at 1.6v. Could mixing the "DDR3 10500 1.5v" with "DDR3 8500 1.6v" cause reboots / system lockups?

It's often difficult to get all of the same Rev. memory to function together at the speed CPUs and data function, let alone with two different types of memory. You're lucky it boots at all. ;):
zombi
Awesome, since removing that memory I've had a 14 hour uptime, then the next day almost 24 hours of uptime. I had to reboot to install something inbetween otherwise I bet I'd have nearly a 2 day uptime by now :D
