cdstealer
Hi, I apologise if this subject has been discussed elsewhere on these forums... I couldn't find anything. Anyhoo..... here are my system specs before I ask:- 2x512Mb (CMX512-2700C2PT) dual channel, XP2700+ (333FSB), MSI K7N2G-ILSR (Nforce2 MCP-T), Maxtor 80Gb, Maxtor 160Gb, Leadtek GeforceFX 5800 128Mb... etc etc My question is... although my system will handle anything I throw at it and has never fallen over. My ram has a CL of 2.5 even though the CMOS is set to 2.0. My current timings are 6-3-3-2 . No matter how much I change these settings, my CL will not go below 2.5. If I change the Row Precharge or RAS-to-CAS Delay my system will not post. Am I missing something? Would it make much difference? tenax
differences in latency on dual channel boards has not nearly as dramatic an effect on performance as conventional boards...i wouldn't sweat it..the nforce 2 board i had (from aopen) running pc3000 dual channel programmed at cas 2.5 would not tweak to cas 2 either..my best guess is because the memory was programmed in spd to run no faster than cas 2.5 by design.
