little big man
I upgraded my 512 Corsair VS memory to 1 gig of Corsair VS; afterwards the computer suffers hard crashes and locks up quite a bit. Going back solves the problem, and I've tried 2 different sets of the new memory to make sure. Memtest says it's just fine. I've long suspected that the person who built this machine did a poor job and/or tried to set it up to overclock, and perhaps that's why the memory upgrade won't work. As I'm not a hardcore hardware person, is there any way to tell if this has been done without taking the machine apart and starting over from scratch?
