I first plugged this set of 2x1gb ram in at default on Dfi Sli-d mobo 704-2bta bios with x2 4800 at 2.8ghz and was able to get all the way up to 285 stable at 2.6v. (2.6 is best) This was memtest and sp2004 stable for over 10 hours each. However, recently i've had to down clock to 280 because i can no longer pass memtest 8 at the optimal settings. i noticed that the (tref) settings made a big difference. I was at 3072 stable at 280. now i can't get stablity unless its 1536. What's going on? and i had to loosen all the settings other than the 3-4-4-8 to auto. What's going on? why's the ram deteriorating in speeds? do i have a bad set? will this continue to get slower and slower? thanks. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Mark099 Posted March 15, 2006 Share Posted March 15, 2006 Don't forget that the memory controller is on the CPU. If you are overclocking it to it's limit it may deteriorate over time. The best way to rule out the CPU is to change to multiplier to 6x or 7x and use FSB changes to test your ram. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
