cdever Posted February 1, 2006 Share Posted February 1, 2006 Have a Dual Channel set up on my Abit IS 7 board. Soon I am going to put in Corsair XMS TWINX1024-3200XL. My question is: Can I also use a matched pair of 256MB modules of 3200-C2 in the other bank without degrading the faster 3200XL? Also, would there be any other issues with both installed? The answer is no for the first question. It's highly likely that your system will not even POST at all with mixed modules and IC's. And even if it does POST, mixing modules will degrade both sets of modules (may force a 166MHz/DDR333 memory speed and looser timings like 2.5-3-3-7).
