A8N-VM CSM POST Failure on VS1GB400C3

I get a single beep out of the machine's AMI BIOS.

One or two sticks of the subject memory.....single beep

These two sticks were an Xmas gift....sigh

This MB has never been past the single beep as yet.

I reset the CMOS, no help.

What are the cheapest 1 GB DIMMS I can put in there? Your compatability list does not include this MB.

I am running an Opteron 175 and wishing for more than the ASUS-stated maximum of 4 GB. In other words a Micro-workstation.

Thanks,

According to their model # “VS1GB400C3” they wasn’t part of a KIT. They were not test together in pairs. They might not be able to work together in dual-channel as pair.

So you have Two 1GB stick?

Try using single module as single channel configuration in socket DIMM-A1 (Blue) it in the MB manual. And see what will happen.

The problem might be because of your motherboard not been able to support your AMD Opteron Dualcore 175 in the Bois. the the orginal Bois rev. before 0506 is not supporting Opteron. The original Bois support the Athlon 64 series CPUs.
