Corsair Road Warrior T2 Elastic bands

So ive had my Road warrior t2 for a while, im happy with it. But i noticed the leather is starting to crack/rip at the seams. this is being caused by the elastic bands that are under no tension whatsoever anymore, they are just hanging on the underside and im basically sitting on the metal support bars. Because of the U form of the leather, it is then too short and starts ripping. So im looking for a way to retention these, does anyone know how to do that? I can't even find how i can disassemble it far enough to see how i would retention them. If someone has a disassembly guide or other tips that would help as well!
Now i do not weigh much (barely 70kg, way under rated weight) so i think the elastics just stretch after a while, which makes me to believe there must be a way to retention them without ordering a new one?
