Wireless reconnect stops audio output from working (HS80)

Hi, I've a interesting issue with my headset when it comes to audio output. My headset is a Corsair HS80. I've an issue where when the wireless headset reconnects after loosing connection, some, but not all applications output audio stops working.

How to reproduce:

  1. Go out of range of the headset so it reconnects when you're close enough
  2. When the headset reconnects, you'll hear the audio output working again for about 1 second before it disappears forever

How to workaround: Go into the specific software audio output settings and set the output to headset again.

What I've already tried:

  • iCUE
    • Reinstalling
    • Running as admin
  • Softwares in questions
    • Reinstalling the softwares in questions where the issue happens (Discord, vPilot, Audio for VATSIM etc.)
    • Running the softwares in question as administrator
  • Updating Windows
  • Updating BIOS
  • Updating Corsair drivers for both headset and dongle
  • Receiving a new dongle from RMA process.

Why is this an iCUE issue?

  • Uninstalling/turning off iCUE solves this issue for all applications.

 

Any feedback if this is a known problem or solutions would be much appreciated 🙂
