Corsair Virtuoso Dongle not working/update not appearing

For about a month now my Dongle won't connect. it flashes red and when I go into the icue stuff, it says "Error device was not found: Device is no longer detected or there was an issues with uploading from the onboard storage" then tells me to try unplugging and replugging it in, which does not work. USB mode works for the headset and it appears to be all up to date.

if I click on the device settings and push "check for update" (it says Firmware: ? if that means anything) it tells me there is an update but I have to "quit other applications controlling your pc hardware (eg: Gigabyte RGB Fusion)", what exactly is that? I tried googling it and nothing really shows up. 

if anyone could offer any advice id appreciate it!
