ErnieMisner
Hello and some noob questions! I am upgrading to an MSI MEG Z390 ACE motherboard. Will my old Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 2400 32GB (2x16) C14 work and do the motherboard justice with my i7 8700k processor? Would the "C14" hold it back and C16 be better? I could purchase new RAM if you think that would be the way to go, and what would you recommend? This is for Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. Thank you very much. BlaiseP
C14 is quicker than C16 - that figure refers to the CAS Latency of the RAM measured in cycles. That said, latency is only part of the picture and speed of the RAM will be a factor. If you got say, 3200MHz RAM with a CL of 16, it will be significantly faster than your 2400Mhz RAM.
