Nichrome
Hi I don't think it's normal. It was happening (sometimes) on my somewhat faulty unit that I replaced not far ago. Since replacement, all is fine.

BringerOfTea
maybe a faulty unit, not getting the charge it first needs, then after a reboot it works. Dont know whether this could be harmful, but certainly annoying. Does that case have a bottom filter? I was under the impression that it is most wise to mount the psu with the fan pointing down... and in that way creating a small seperate air flow for the psu alone.
