cats_123
Hi. This is my first venture on this forum. My old PSU needed replacing. I have boughta CX500. I have two motherboard connections. The longer one is fine, but the smaller one is a square 4 pin connector, whereas the CX500 kit has a horizontal 4 pin. Can I get a converter, or is there a 'different' CX500 with a square pin connector? Thanks Jeff
Bam360
Do they fit if you try to connect it? if so, do it and forget about them not having the same shape
cats_123
Haven't tried, didn't want to force it....but doesn't that mean there will only be two pins connected? I'm not sure what that connector drives???
Bam360
Can you post an image of what the connectors look like?
cats_123
Don't have a website, so can't link photos. The existing connector is a square white box type (4 compartments), whereas the Corsair one is a bank of 4 in a single row.
Bam360
Now that you explain it, it doesn't make sense, are you saying corsair connector is 4 pins in a row, instead of a square? then you are using the wrong connector, it is probably the one with 8 pins that you need to split
cats_123
That would make sense. I have one Corsair connector in an 8 formation marked CPU. Forgive my ignorance, is that likely to be the one?
