CorsairLINK2 Software "difference from 100" ?? What does this mean?

I am navigating the CorsairLINK2 v. 2.3.4816 software for the first time. There are two temp indicator icons for my 256GB Samsung 840 Pro SSD, one indicates "Samsung Drive Difference from 100" 71.0c the other indicates "Samsung Drive Difference from 100" 0.0c

A dumb question, I'm sure but what does this mean "Difference from 100" and why not just indicate the actual temp of the drive.

It is a S.M.A.R.T. attribute:

Temperature Difference from 100

Better: Higher Raw Value

Value is equal to (100-temp. °C), allowing manufacturer to set a minimum threshold which corresponds to a maximum temperature. Seagate and Samsung use this attribute.

Speed nailed it, that's the S.M.A.R.T. attribute for temp. Odd way of doing it, but all SSD mfgrs seem to do something similar.

And note that text is for Centigrade. If you run Fahrenheit display, the value is flat wrong. 212 minus what I saw was 50 degrees F, obviously wrong as room temp is 72.
