Exclamation Sci-fi/Space Station/Dystopian mod w/Corsair C70 case

Hey guys,

working on my second Hackintosh project, and just finished the paintjob and visual side of it.
Not sure what to call it: I was inspired by sci-fi movies (Aliens (1986) in particular as the attentive reader might notice).
Perhaps simply "BauerCorp Mod" or similar.

Anywho, this is the build so far: (Software setup still remains)
• Primary use: Creative work, video editing

• Corsair C70 case
• Inno3D iChill GTX 1080 TI
• ASUS Maximus X Hero 370 (Wi-fi, Bluetooth)
• i7 8700K
• 32 GB HyperX RAM
• Samsung 500GB 850 EVO M.2 SSD
• (7 SSD drives total > Will be transferred from current machine when everything else is ready. Same with lighting.)
• PSU: Corsair RM750X
• CPU fan: Noctua NH-D15

Let me know what you think, and if you´re interested I´ll post more about the build/painting process itself.

Thanks :)

Love the paint finish, I'd love to try this myself and credit you.

Can you please share the process in creating the grey base color finish?

*Brand and paint color you used for the grey / blue base color?
*Process for applying paint base color?

My guess is that you used brush for the base color coat. I am aware of how you created the silver exposed metal scuffs and scratches

btw, if you do another Corsair C70 build, here is custom window without the fan holes, https://mnpctech.com/mnpctech-clear-...om-window.html

Hey,

sure. It´s very simple: I used spray paint from Edding. Edding Permanent Spray 5200.
You can use other brands, I just like the fact that these are matte/semi-matte.
They are quite pricey, tho.
Grey color is Antracite (I believe) and then I used yellow for bits and bobs.

I didn´t prime the case at all; I just washed it and made sure there was no grease on it.
Then simply paint, apply scratches with steel brush or whateven gives the effect you´re after.
The paint sticks pretty well to the case, and since the case is stationary, and you´re going for a weathered look, there´s really no need to prime.

No need to credit me :) Just glad I could be of inspiration. And FWIW the case still looks the same 2 years later, so it worked out fine.

Happy painting!
Lasse :)
