I don't know specifically but it's actually for integrating with another Corsair product. A lot of people get confused by this myself included, and there's dozens of threads on this exact topic.
However, there is a third-party open source application that will do exactly what you want called Keyboard Audio Visualizer. Not sure if I can link it here but a quick search will help you find what you're looking for. Corsair needs to be a little more descriptive with their ridiculous number of products and how they integrate, because it can be extremely confusing.
edit: You may also need the Corsair Effects Engine, I cannot test it right now as I'm in the process of RMA'ing my KB for faulty switches so I can't say if you need both or just one. Should be somewhere on GitHub IIRC.
