New updates to the Philips Hue Smart Ambient Lighting integration in CORSAIR iCUE make it easier than ever to sync up your system lighting with the ambient lighting in your room.

To get set up, check out this tutorial video we've put together over at CORSAIR LAB:

Requirements:

  • Make sure you've updated to the current version of CORSAIR iCUE
  • Your system and your Philips Hue Bridge need to be on the same home network
  • Set up at least one entertainment zone in the Philips Hue mobile app for iOS or Android

Configure Entertainment Zones in the Philips Hue Mobile App

First, you'll want to go through the initial setup process on the Philips Hue mobile app to pair your Philips Hue-compatible lighting to a Philips Hue Bridge. After adding your home lighting, create at least one entertainment zone for the lights you wish to have available for CORSAIR iCUE to control.

Enable the Philips Hue Integration in iCUE

From the iCUE homescreen, go to Settings -> Integrations and toggle the Philips Hue Integration on.

Pair iCUE to Philips Hue Bridge

From the iCUE homescreen, hover over the tile for the Philips Hue bridge and click on "Setup Wizard".

Follow the steps to pair CORSAIR iCUE to your bridge.

Lighting Effects

Once paired to your Philips Hue Bridge, CORSAIR iCUE will pull the information it needs to drive any Entertainment Zones you've set up in the Philips Hue Mobile App, creating separate zones for each Entertainment Zone.

From here, all you need to do is add a lighting effect in the "Lighting Layers" panel and assign it to a zone (we recommend 1-2 lighting effects for best results per lighting zone). If you use multiple profiles in CORSAIR iCUE, make sure to go through each of them and set up your desired lighting effects for your Philips Hue ambient lights for each profile.

Wrapping Up

If you need to hand control of your Entertainment Zones back to your other smart home devices, go to the "Device Settings" tab and toggle off the setting for "Lighting Playback".
