donkaron
I have a full tower Graphite 760T case purchase one year ago. It has two 140mm fans on the front panel. Recently I noticed that the upper fan will stop spinning though the LED's stay on. If I hit the controller button on the top of the case it comes back on, runs for a while, then turns off again. The fan was a bit noisier than the lower fan so I thought it was a bearing failure and replaced the upper fan. But the same thing is happening. The computer runs very cool as I rarely do anything that pushes it hard. There's no measurable temperature increase when only the lower front fan is running. My questions are: 1) are the front fans thermostatically controlled and purposefully turned off? 2) or is this a symptom of the fan controller failing? Thanks. Toasted
Likely a fan controller issue as the fans are voltage controlled. Have you tried a different fan header from the front panel?
donkaron
I haven't tried switching to a different header but will give that a go. Thanks for the suggestion.
