Helluzzo
Hello, I have a old i7-920 system with a cmt6gx3m3a1866c9 (3x2gb) kit. I would like to upgrade it with new RAM, so I was wondering if there is any way to keep the old memory or I should buy a new kit. If I find another cmt6gx3m3a1866c9 kit (where? :D) will it work? What if I would instead only buy another 2gb? Thank you all!
Corsair Employee Greybeard Posted March 17, 2015 Corsair Employee Share Posted March 17, 2015 We've always recommended to go for the amount of memory you are going for to get them as a matching set vs adding new set to an existing one. You are welcome to do so, but its just there is no guarantee that those two different sets will work together because they are not tested together to begin with.
