Fix
I have the Corsair H90 cooling system and I bought a Gigabyte GA-Z170x Gaming 7 motherboard which I will be using the Intel i7 6700k CPU. Will this cooling system fit my motherboard? I have looked at the specs on newegg and I am a little confused. I purchased my H90 from Best Buy - http://www.bestbuy.com/site/corsair-hydro-series-h90-140mm-high-performance-liquid-cpu-cooler-black/1308483489.p?id=mp1308483489&skuId=1308483489 and my Gigabyte GA-Z170x Gaming 7 Motherboard on Newegg - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128835&cm_re=z170x-_-13-128-835-_-Product Please let me know, I tried installing the cooling system on the motherboard and the motherboard did not work correctly so I had to RMA it. As far as I was concerned it was going to work. If the H90 will not work on this board please let me know what will. Thank you, David
Toasted
The H90 supports 1151. What went wrong during the installation? Did the backplate not align properly? Take a look at this thread as it may help you with the install. http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?p=804902
Fix
I received the motherboard and it would not power the I/O. A few reviews said they were unsure it the H90 and H100i were compatible with this board so I wanted to make sure it is. Im trying to figure out what happened to cause my motherboard to not work properly and Im starting to think it might have been faulty.
Toasted
I/O as in the rear ports and the front I/O panel? I don't see how the cooler prevents the ports from working. Do you have links to the reviews where they mention a possible issue with the coolers?
Fix
The rear I/O was not working but I talked to a tech and they told me the H90 is fine and that it might have not been working because my computer was not fully booted since the RAM errors were occurring. As far as the H90 though it should be fine according to Gigabyte
