victorgpu
Example: i have a case with 3x front intake and 1 rear exhaust, but have space for more 3x 120mm fans at the top but i have the h100i v2 at the top so there was only one space for a single fan at the top, should i install a fan or just leave a hole in there ? it will reduce the cpu temps or something ? c-attack
No, not in this instance. Most people prefer a slight bias toward intake air volume compared to exhaust. Assuming the fans are all generally running the same speed, the 3x120 front will move more air than the 1x120 rear and top two radiator restricted 120s. You will get some passive exhaust through the opening with nothing there. The extra fan would only add noise without really adding anything valuable. If this were a side door fan or some place else, it might be a different story.
victorgpu
thanks for your answer, but if the front intake was 3x 140mm instead of 3x 120mm would that make a difference ? the x3 140 will move even more air right ?
c-attack
Either way it’s pretty much the same. 3x140 means you can run them slower. Want to crank them up? Fine, it still pushes air out through the venting. That front in, top out in the front corner just isn’t that useful.
