Swiso
Hello ! I am considering upgrading the RAM of my PC from 6 to 12GB. Currently I have this kit: CMT6GX3M3A1600C7. Could you suggest, please, a suitable upgrade to 12GB (a whole new kit or an add-on to the kit I have). If possible with the same performances. Thank you very much Best regards
peanutz94
Either of these would be perfect! http://www.corsair.com/us/memory-by-product-family/vengeance.html
Swiso
Hello ! Thanks for the reply. I was thinking at this kit : CMZ12GX3M3A2000C10 What do you think ? Can I run it at 1600 instead of 2000 ? Since my Dominator kit is installed without the heatsink (I had to, because the Noctua CPU cooler cannot be installed with the Dominator heatsink), do you think the Venegance kit will fit in the same space under the CPU cooler ? Thanks !
peanutz94
Yeah, you can run the 2000mhz kit at 1600mhz. Thats not a problem. And You are also correct in thinking that the Vengeance series won't fit under your cooler.

Swiso
A quick question... I bought this kit : CMP12GX3M3A1600C9 After installing it, the PC started without problem. I checked that the memory profile was XMP. Windows Experience Index downgraded the value for the RAM from the previous 7.9 to 7.6 with this kit. Is that normal ? Since the previous kit had a latency of 7-7-7-20 , and this one instead is 9-9-9-24, should I expect lower performance ? Is it noticeable ? Thank you Regards
peanutz94
WEI means absolutely nothing and is not an accurate representation of any kind of performance benchmark. Ignore it! But no, you will notice no performance difference at all. You would need to run a good memory benchmark with both kits and compare the numbers to "see" any performance difference.
