kinesis
i have this disk that ??? or something. Xubuntu 13.0 Xfce 4.10. With the enclosure by SABRENT it would just simply give me a USB error in the syslog. I tried getting a new enclosure the GAUNTLET 3 from Patriot MEMORY. The non-operational drive was then placed into this enclosure. I'm trying to get it working but it does nothing at all when I plug it in. No light, no syslog activity, or anything. Failure is not an option, as there are files on the disk. If I boot windows will the CORSAIR toolkit(s) and firmware utilities pull up the disk through the wire? Can it be pulled up or recovered through the wire? The technician at Fry's plugged it into a USB adapter device, a naked drive enclosure. She informed me that it did not work, but I did not see her screen. She further asserted her credentials, that it is impossible, blah blah. I just want the drive to work. Toasted
Plug the SSD into a computer via a SATA data cable and see if the drive is detected.
kinesis
I don't have access to one of those right now. It may have been a SATA to USB adapter.
Toasted
A SATA data cable plugs the drive into the motherboard rather than a SATA to USB cable.
