ComputerMD82
I recently purchased 2 of the following Dominator GT kits from Newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233230 These are 16GB (4x4GB), DDR3-2133, 1.5v, 9-11-10-27 timings. When Newegg first listed these (and when I bought them), they were listed as 1.5v modules. One reviewer stated that the modules he received were labeled at 1.65v but when testing, found they were 1.5v. 2 days after I bought mine, Newegg changed the product description to 1.65v. Corsair is selling what appears to be the exact same kit in their store (Same part no. - CMT16GX3M4X2133C9), which Corsair advertises as 1.5v. These modules have the same part number but cost significantly more than they do on Newegg. Corsair store link: http://www.corsair.com/dominator-gt-with-dhx-pro-connector-1-5v-16gb-dual-channel-ddr3-memory-kit-cmt16gx3m4x2133c9.html I bought these because they appeared to be the only 1.5v CAS 9 DDR3-2133 modules available, otherwise I could have saved almost $200 by going with another vendor. Are these mislabeled? Are the Corsair direct modules different from the Newegg modules? Thank you in advance. Matt
Wired
Sidenote: It's never recommended to mix kits as there's no way to guarantee compatibility. Best bet is to return it and get ONE 32 GB kit. Fastest I see on Corsair's site is 1866 MHz, but you could always try overclocking them.
ComputerMD82
Generally I don't mix kits unless I personally bought them at the same time, better chance of them being from the same batch. I'd never mix different part numbers. I'd just like to know if what I bought is actually rated for 1.5v. Otherwise I'd have purchased different kits. ComputerMD82
I received my kits in the mail today and guess what... 1.5v! http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g282/ComputerMD82/GT.jpg I've emailed Newegg and informed them 1.5v is correct, we'll see if they change it back. That's interesting, corsair is using Samsung IC's now on that according to the DDR3 IC Inquiry. Could you try clocking these up? I think they might be using the new Samsung 30nm chips. I was really looking to the Hynix chips though :(
