Gorchau
Hello. I have a corsair ax 850 gold full modular psu. And i recently had some troubles with my pc. So im trying to narrow things down. In this proces I had a look at the psu and noticed all the white thermal paste. At first I was sure I found the answer, but later realized what it was. After a closer look at the psu i saw some lightblue liquid/paste/?? Between the two large capacitators (at least I think thats what they are 😉)  So my question is.. is that normal ? Or could it cause my psu to malfunction/shutdown at random Thanx in advance
Corsair Employee jonnyguru Posted March 4, 2015 Corsair Employee Share Posted March 4, 2015 That's normal. It's not paste... it's actually caulk. The bulk caps, coils, transformers, etc. put a lot of weight on the PCB. If you can imagine this thing bouncing around in transport; you certainly wouldn't want to rely on their solder connection alone to keep them secure. So they put a bunch of caulk on them to keep them secure.
