lordnox24
Hello everyone :) i am new on these forums and i just have a quick question I bought the Asus P5Q3 mobo for my PC cause my Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3 was starting to die :P (yes i know we are in the year 2014 and i'm still running LGA775 :D but i got it super cheap) I have the Q9550 quad CPU and GTX 570 GPU, now all i need is some DDR3 ram to go with it (currently have 4Gb DDR2) my question is: Will the Corsair Vengeance DDR3 2x4GB 1600MHz (CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9) Ram work With the Asus P5Q3 mobo ? I would really like to have 8 gigs of ram and also OC my CPU from 2.83 to 3.80. What i wouldn't like is to buy new ram sticks and find out later that my PC doesn't post. So i was wondering if anyone here is running Corsairs CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 with the Asus P5Q3 mobo. And if this combo would work fine with Q9550 Cpu. pegotico
if you go to memory finder http://www.corsair.com/en/memory-finder and input your model, you get 1333 memory http://www.corsair.com/en-us/cmx8gx3m4b1333c9 and http://www.corsair.com/en-us/dominator-with-dhx-pro-connector-8gb-dual-channel-ddr3-memory-kit-cmp8gx3m4a1333c9 ON asus website it says https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P5Q3/#specifications 4 x DIMM, Max. 16 GB, DDR3 1800(O.C.)/1600/1333/1066 Non-ECC,Un-buffered Memory Dual Channel memory architecture *DDR3 1600MHz or above DIMMs work only on the Orange slots for one DIMM per channel. BUt I don't think you should even bother with the 1600 as there wont be any difference
