Rez
Im using a P5KPL-AM motherboard and installed the latest intel AHCI drivers. And enable AHCI with the MS Fix. But there is one thing, i don't have the option to enable ore disable AHCI in Bios. So i dont know if its on or off. The fw update seams to work but when i rescan the drive its still 1.2. No errors, noting... Now i cant find any thing more to do.. Any suggestions??
Synthohol
were you having any issues or just arbitrarily updating it?
Rez
No issues at all, no error, nothing. The whole procedure goes fine, but it takes more then 10 sek more like 1-2 minutes. It wont update to 1.3.
Synthohol
If you are stable with the current 1.2 firmware and do not have issues, we suggest that you do not flash your firmware. Also, it is not possible to flash back to a previous firmware version. its best to just leave it alone then.
Rez
The reason for the fw update is hangings, i got 2 or 3 per day. Reset dont work i have to power off and on to get the drive detected. So i am urgent to fix this, it has to be a reason for this, but i cant find any one wrighting about it.
Synthohol
ok there was some misunderstanding, i asked if you had any issues with the drive and you said no issues. now i see you meant with the updater. you may want to try to update it in another PC running win7 32bit in case that is what is holding you back. Rez
Oh sorry wasnt clear about that :). I should try that, i am running a 64bit so i could give it a try. What about running the software in win7 32bit compatible mode?
Synthohol
not sure, i would carefully read the PDF regarding the update for any hints if that would work. ok, the PDF just says window7, i wish it was more specific than that;)

Rez
Yes! Got the drive updated but not on any ICH7 controllers. I find a computer with a nvidia chipset and it worked. Now i hope it should work. I´ll be in touch.
