Malign
i was wondering why is it that my write times are faster than my read times on my SSD. is this normal for sata III speeds as well?
Malign
this is after uninstalling new chipset drivers from amd to stock.
KILLER_K
I would imagine it is the controller you are using. It is probably causing the weird readings on the test. As mine is the opposite of yours. My read is a tad faster then my writes are. Also if you are constantly benchmarking the drive will slow down. you have to give it a break for 10-15minutes to catch back up to speed. Synbios
I have seen this on a few AMD chipsets; it's totally normal and dependent on the chipset, south bridge, and SATA controller you're using.
Malign
k i ended up changing my power state to high performance. even with the change, the speeds are the same as witing vs reading but they are faster now. do you think updating the firmware would change anything? i believe i am running rev 1.3. Synbios
Typically firmware does not change the benchmarks at all, but you are welcome to try. Make sure you backup your data, I would hate to see an unnecessary firmware update go sour.
