sometimesdeadly
Ray Guy, Could you please tell me the correct bios setting for biostar MCP6P M2+ and gigabyte GA-M61PME-S2P motherboard if they are comparable with CM2X2048-6400C5? The systems boot up fine and all but when I try to install Windows 7, I get a BSOD right after a partition setting screen (and it installs just fine when I put in other rams from Micron on both systems). I have ran the latest memtest86+ for about 8 hours and it did not report any problems (ocm2x2048-6400c5), but when I tried 667mhz instead of 800mhz, windows installed fine on ga-m61pme-s2p (haven’t tried it on mcp6p yet). Are there any chances that I have defective module or will they work fine with correct bios settings at advertised speed/timing? Thanks
Synthohol
there is a memory finder link on the left. just fill in your board and see if that ram is on the list, and the timings are posted as well.:):
