Ma27iN
Hey all, So I bought a 8GB kit which I thought was the same as my current 8GB kit to increase my RAM to 16GB. It turns out that the version is different, and my motherboard will not POST with the new version... Anything I can do? My current sticks are Version 3.20, and the new sticks are Version 5.20.. all other specs are the exact same. I have updated the BIOS, and tried different RAM slots and combinations. Fails with just the new sticks installed also.. Corsair Employee Corsair Rick Posted March 22, 2019 Corsair Employee Share Posted March 22, 2019 Hello Ma27iN, Sorry to hear that. Have you tested the new kit by itself? Unfortunately if it isn't booting by itself, it is likely a compatibility issue.
Ma27iN
Tried each stick individualy, no luck.. surprising that the exact same model is not compatible..
khananas
Corsair, I am also facing a similar problem. Do you have any suggestion on how to use two RAM sticks of different versions work on the same motherboard?
