ChrisJohn
I am about to build a new system with a Sandy Bridge i5 CPU and an Asus P8H67 motherboard. My question relates to memory voltage. I plan to use Corsair XMS3 memory (I have ordered the 2 x 4Gb kit CMX8GX3M2A1333C9). The product description on the Corsair website states 1.65v. The Asus QVL spreadsheet shows 1.5v for this memory series and the motherboard manual states: "According to Intel CPU spec, DIMM voltage below 1.65v is recommended to protect the CPU" . Should I set the voltage to 1.5v or leave it at the default auto? I also plan to upgrade my existing Corsair Extreme SSD to the new Performance 3 series, if I can afford it once they become available and I see the prices! Wired
Just talked with Ram Guy, don't go above 1.5v. That memory may or may not run @ spec @ 1.5v. Best to cancel that order and get something from the Vengeance series.
