Can't Install Win 7 After Firmware Update and Secure Erase

Hello there,

I have Force 3 120 GB and my drive's serial starts with 1129. First of all, I gave a shot to drive without updating and secure erasing it. Windows 7 was installed without a problem. However, as you can guess, BSOD started and sometimes I am not even able to use my PC for 3-4 hours without crash. I held on 3 weeks with that. After that what I have done with order:

- Updated BIOS to the last version (My PC's specs on the forum user are correct)

- Updated drive's firmware 1.2 to 1.3.2

- Tried to secure erase with Parted Magic (it was on AHCI) The erase duration was too short.

- I tried to install Win 7 but got the error (On target instalaltion drive step) (Setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate an existing system partition. See the Setup log files for motr information.)

- Then I made some search and I switched to IDE

- Boot parted magic and did secure erase again. (It last much longer than the first one.)

- I switched to AHCI again

- Tried to install Win 7 again but still the same error. (On target instalaltion drive step) (Setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate an existing system partition. See the Setup log files for motr information.)

What did I wrong? or What am I doing wrong? What should I do now?

Kind regards.

had some what the same issue.

Boot up with Windows 7, get into recovery mode, get to a dos prompt.

run diskpart

do a disk list

and then select your disk

do a partition list

and then delete all the partitions on the drive.

once you do that, shutdown and reboot, Windows 7 should reinstall.

^To a more brief instruction.

-Make sure your SATA Mode/Storage Configuration is set to "AHCI"

-Change your boot priority to your Optical Drive.

-Shutdown your computer and disconnect any other hard drive.

-Turn on your computer place your install DVD in the drive.

-When you are in the Welcome screen of the Install DVD Press Shift+F10.

A command prompt should popup.

-Type "diskpart" No quotes

-Type "list disk" No quotes

-Select the only drive so for example

# Drive Capacity

0 Corsair Force Series 3 XXGB

Then you would type "Select disk 0" No quotes

-Then once it says selected disk drive type "create partition primary" No quotes.

-Press Enter.

-It should now say Diskpart sucessfully create a partiton.

-Type "exit" no quotes.

-Type "exit" no quotes.

-Continue with normal installation.

Thank you for the instructions. I have tried the diskpart but I was unable to install it. However I made some search again it proved that there must be no "dynamic disk" during Windows installation. I have a raid 0 partition on embedded Marvell controller. So I have disconnected all drives except SSD and it was the solution.

Thank you very much again.

Regards.
