2x TWIN2X4096-8500C5D Low Speeds

Hi I bought me 4gig of RAM in a matched pair and then I bought another 4 gig of RAM (Same make and model) to up my RAM to 8 gigs. Now when I had the 4 gig I was able to run the RAM at 967mhz and overclock the CPU to 3.6Ghz. But since I put in the extra 4 gig I am unable to overclock the system at all and I have loosen the timings and the clock speed. (Talking approximates).

I know I was stupid and should have bought all 4 as matched sticks but I couldn't afford to buy it all at once. Now I wonder if I'm suffering performance wise by having the extra RAM at all. Do you guys have any suggestions as to how I could maybe get a bit more out of the RAM?

My system runs stable like this in this configuration. I have attached some CPUID tabs for you to look at.

I'd welcome any sensible suggestions :)

Try Ai clocktrwister to lighter and

set the northbridge voltage to 1.2 a 1.3V (you could start with 1.3 and lower when stable)

Then try FSB 400 for your overclock

start with 800 for ram speed and if that works go one step higher (1000 I think) and if that works maybe try 1066. (there is very little performance difference going from 800 to 1066 anyway, cpu speed has much more impact)

PL (performance level) is also important, most of the time auto works but if not try 12 to 14 for 800 and 8 to 12 for the other 2 speeds (start with the highest number so 14 for 800)
