maxtoid
I'm almost afraid to ask after having spent the past several hours reading all the forum posts on the H100i v1 issues; but mine is different enough that I think it's worth throwing the question out there. I installed the H100i v2 and it shows up in device manager and SIV correctly after installing the latest CL 4.2.1.42, it shows up correctly in device manager, and everything checks out. No errors, nothing. Except that CL doesn't see it, at all. Any thoughts? http://rippletheater.com/files/screens/CL.PNG http://rippletheater.com/files/screens/CLdevices.PNG http://rippletheater.com/files/screens/DeviceManager.PNG http://rippletheater.com/files/screens/DeviceManager2.PNG http://rippletheater.com/files/screens/DeviceManager3.PNG http://rippletheater.com/files/screens/SIV1.PNG http://rippletheater.com/files/screens/SIV2.PNG
red-ray
the H100i v2 and it shows up in device manager and SIV correctly What does the SIV [Link Status] panel report? Are the temperature, fan and pump speeds there. Ideally post a screen shot. Given there is nothing at all on the CL4 [Home] tab I am wondering if the service is running, what does sc query CLink4Service report? Are there log files in C:\ProgramData\CLink4\ and/or C:\Users\All Users\CLink4\? Note they may be hidden. CL4 is silly and uses TCP port 8080. If another program is already using port 8080 it simply fails to start. The SIV Menu->TCP/IP->TCP Ports panel will show which ports are being used. You should also add your PC specs to your profile. maxtoid
Thanks so much! uTorrent was using 8080. Changed that and everything works. Spent so long researching for something so simple..
gabby131
Hello! I need help on this case as well.....my H100i v2 is also not being detected. On device manager, an Unknown USB Device error appeared under USB Controllers. CL4 displays hardware status except the H100i V2 I have: - Reboot - Power Down for 5 mins - Uninstall the USB device > reboot - Uninstall CL4 > Delete Corsair Link folders > Reinstall CL4 > Reboot - Replug USB cable - Use different fan headers Can you assist? Please and thank you.

gabby131
Nope... This i have not done. I'll do this later this day and confirm. Thank you Hello! I have disabled fan control on bios and remove other fan control software from start up (AI Suite 3) but still have the Unknown USB after reboot and CL4 reinstall. EDIT: properties says 'Windows had stopped the device because it has reported problems. (Code 43). A request for the USB device descriptor failed' Please advise. Thank you. red-ray
Have you tried searching for other posts about "code 43"? I would uninstall the device, power down the system for 2 minutes and see what happens once I reboot. What does Device Manager report? Try a different USB cable. Until Device Manager reports the device as working don't even bother trying CL4 as it won't report it.
gabby131
I did search the code and found a step-by-step (similar to a power-cycle, mobo reset) method on how to potentially fix this. I have not perform it as I am at work. I also uninstalled the ASUS AI Suite and other ASUS software. I'll do another troubleshooting once I get home. The cooler seems to be working, however, I have no way of controlling at least the pump (static at 1300 rpm) and my temps are fine. I just like to be able to monitor using CL....sigh. I appreciate your help thank you Ü
gabby131
Hello! After hours of troubleshooting, it appears that ASUS AI suite has some driver conflicts with the H100i v2. After uninstalling AI Suite and replugginh h100i v2 USB, it finally detected correctly in Device Manager and CL4. I am able to adjust fan/pump speeds and LED. I also need to disable CPU Fan control in BIOS. Thank you so much!
gabby131
Hello! After hours of troubleshooting, it appears that ASUS AI suite has some driver conflicts with the H100i v2. I also need to disable CPU Fan control in BIOS. Thank you so much! Hello! I am revisiting this thread as I later found out that none of the software installed in my system, not the cooler itself, has the issue of Corsair Link 4 unable to detect H100i v2. I tried using other USB cables from my previous H80i GT and H110i GTX that I found in my toolbox and yes, this works. At least for now. Currently monitoring Device Manager and it's not reporting an "unknown usb" error. No idea what is wrong...might be a faulty USB cable or just registry issues that my PC only remembers and recognizes my H80i/H110i's USB cable. In an case, I am planning to get a hydro series cable set/kit to replace the faulty one, but I am having a hard time. Is there a place where these kits can be purchased? Thank you
red-ray
Is there a place where these kits can be purchased? I have only ever seen them on eBay. If you open a ticket via https://corsair.secure.force.com/home/home.jsp Corsair may just send you one.
AquaGoat
I've got a potential solution. I know this is an old thread, but I just went through this issue. I'll post my solution in case anyone wanders through here. I was getting the Device Descriptor Request Failed with the link cable. I powered down and used a regular USB to attach it to an external port, and that worked. So I powered down, switched back to the link that goes to the mobo header, and nothing again. At this point I was a little frustrated, so I thought, I'll just use the external USB to set the RGB color on the damn thing, then switch back to the proper link cable and wait for Corsair to patch it. This is where I got stupid. Impatiently, instead of powering down my unit, I did the swap with Windows running and Link up. I figured it's just USB, what could go wrong? So I set the RGB color, then switched the cable back to the Link cable. For the record, I DID NOT remove the end of the Link cable from my motherboard. I just had the end that goes into the CPU Cooler removed. Anyways, after swapping it with Windows on, Link now showed two H110i's. That means it was recognizing my cooler via the proper Link cable. I did a quick reboot, and now Link shows just one cooler, and everything works as it should. TL:DR - With Windows on, unplug the Link cord from the Cooling unit, and plug in a regular USB cord to one of your external USB ports. Once Windows properly installs the drivers and you see it in the Link software, switch back to the proper Link cable. You'll now see two Coolers in the Link software. Reboot and you're good to go.
