Dark Core Mouse Cursor Jump

I recently received the dark core RGB mouse and every once in a while the cursor jumps across the screen. I noticed that when it does this, the tray icon for the mouse flashes with the warning sign and then quickly goes back to the battery indicator. It looks like the mouse is losing connection for a split second. Is this a firmware issue? I have the 2.4 wireless connector plugged into front of my PC which is 4-5 feet away from the mouse; I wouldn't expect connection issues that close.
