It looks very shiny and I can't quite differentiate it from the "H150i Pro", however both need a USB connection for the software to interact with it.

 

 

For the XT version, the USB mini port is on the left side of the pump. It then needs to connect to the other 9 pin USB port that is one spot to the left of where you connected the Lighting Node Pro. Yes, this cable is a pain to route. You either need to go around the CPU block and GPU or over the top and down the back side of the motherboard before coming up from the bottom. The USB mini to 9 pin cable should be in the box.

Yes, that's my cooler. And no somehow the guy who mounted this PC forgot about the USB cable, which I cannot seem to find, but will figure out a way to get my hands on it eventually. Just a quick question - where exactly in the motherboard does it go?(ASUS Z490-E)

The Lighting Node Pro controls your lighting and nothing else. The fan controller is in the H150i and fan pump speeds controlled from there. It’s not showing in your devices. Is it connected to the MB via USB?

 

However, fan speed is not going to have any effect on idle temperature or normal mixed use. The cpu temp will rise and fall continuously as voltage is applied and removed. It’s the conductivity of the cold plate that keeps it from overheating. The fans only help to remove heat from the coolant stream and that takes prolonged load to heat up.

 

I don’t know how you were idling at 20-22C. That would require a room temp of about 16C and would not last very long before the case warmed up. You do seem to be struggling with usual complex interactions between the multitude of BIoS settings and MB maker’s desire to bump clocks and voltages right out of the box. The Asus Z490 bios is fairly complex with a lot of options. You need to find a guide to help you get set up.

 

We also need to get that H150i detected so you can access pump speed. Fans at 750 vs 1300 might be worth 5C, but if the pump is at 1100 rpm as well then that could be another 8-10C for a long load scenario.

 

 

 

Here are two photos of what my H150i looks like. On the bottom are the cables that I think are coming from the pump & lightning node. The one on the left is probably the one from the node.

 

I unfortunately did not set up my PC this time around due to time constraints and it was the first time using a AIO, therefore I am quite new to this technology and don't really understand what's going on there with cables.

 

A friend of mine showed me his H100i and there is this USB cable hanging from under the Corsair thingy attached to the CPU(which I assume is "the pump", right?) going straight into the mobo. I don't have such a cable attached to the bottom of it, only the cables coming out from the top which I think are attached to the fans or the motherboard, not sure which.

EDIT: Sorry for the quality of the photos, I have a Lian Li case and it's quite difficult to take a good photo through that tampered glass. It's also a pain in the *** to open it up, so I tried to cut a few corners by taking a photo through the glass instead.

Ok so I've been trying to fix this with google searches (and your forums) for a few hours now and the end result is... there is no end result.

 

I basically cannot OC properly as I cannot control my fans. Hell, I screwed a few settings on my CPU OC and now I cannot even get my idle temps back down.

 

Basically, the iCUE software does not detect my LL120 fans, only my "LIGHTING NODE PRO".

 

I have a H150i and I switched its fans for 3 x LL120 and I added another 3 x LL120 to the build, for a total of 6. They are all conected with a lightning node pro, which it accurately detects.

The lightning works, obviously, but I cannot control my fans to get them to ramp up.

 

Things I have tried: restarting the iCue service from "Services", uninstalling and reinstalling iCue, updating iCue, restarting iCue service from under options, uninstalling HWMonitor & AIDA64 because someone on this forums said they may be trying to take control over the fans and that could impair the iCue software from detecting them.

 

Software still installed on my computer that may be relevant: Core Temp, but doubt.

 

Thing is, I tried OCing for the first time and I failed. Got reaaaally high temps on a default 4.9GHz 1.3V OC on my i9-10900k. So I went into ASUS Bios, pressed F5(Optimized defaults), turned XMP back on because that's for RAM only and for some reason my CPU is still stuck at turbo frequencies, permanently going 4.9GHz 1.32V+ and even going as far up as 1.36V 5.3GHz in idle. Basically I am permanently stuck in an OC set-up against my will.

 

I went in and temporarily set the frequency to 4.0Ghz just to stabilize the situation for a while, but my temps are still 40 idle. When I got this PC 1 week ago, the temps were 20-22C in idle. Therefore, something is wrong with the fans - hence why I am researching how to optimize fan performance.

 

Please help me with the iCue software (and if possible with my failed OC attempt and a way to fix it)
