  1. Sharp work on the cablemanagement as well! Glad to see you took the time to give the back panel some love as well:)

A beautiful tempered glass side panel meant I had to give the back some love (unlike my previous build) eventhough it'll be up against a wall! ;):

The little channel cover on the 500D was an absolute godsend - although I had a struggle getting it back on because of how many cables are packed in there.

  2. Yeah the RTX 3000 cards are still going to be hard to get for a while, but glad you still like it! Your build looks great, once you get a 3080 you'll be in for a real jump. :)

I was hoping to have one by the COD and Cyberpunk releases - but that's looking quite unlikely now :[pouts:

Fingers crossed I'll be able to pick one up at some stage in 2020 to complete the build!

  3. Sadly this build is only partially complete, as I couldn't get my hands on a 3080. Once I do, that'll be going into the loop - replacing the 1080 which is currently there. I couldn't stare at a boxed up 10900K all day, so decided to start the build anyways!

That being said, I'm still pretty happy with how everything turned out since it's my 2nd ever PC Build and my 1st ever custom loop.

    Specs:

    Corsair Obsidian 500D SE RGB

    Asus Maximus XII Hero (WiFi)

    Corsair AX850 Titanium

    Intel Core i9 10900K

    EVGA GTX 1080 FTW

32 GB Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB 3200MHz

    1TB Samsung 970 EVO (NVME)

    500GB Samsung 970 EVO (NVME)

500 GB Samsung 860 EVO (SATA)

    Cooling:

    XD5 Pump

    XC7 CPU Block

    XR5 360mm Radiator

    XR5 240mm Radiator

    14mm Satin Transperent Hardline Tubing

    6x QL120 Fans

  4. ISSUES IS SOLVED. I FORCED A FIRMWARE UPDATE OF THE COMMAND PRO, WHICH BROUGHT BACK CONTROL FOR FAN #1

    Hi Guys,

Recently completed my first Hydro X build. Well, partly completed since I cant get my hands on a 3080 at the moment.

I have a Commander Pro with 6 QL120 Fans connected to it. I've applied a custom curve to the fans, and it appears to be working for all the fans except 1.

    Fan #1 - QL120 RGB

    Fan #2 - QL120 RGB

    Fan #3 - QL120 RGB

    Fan #4 - 2x QL120 RGB (Using Splitter)

    Fan #5 - QL120 RGB

    Fan #5 - XD5 Pump

As you can see in the attached screenshots, all fans have the same performance profile applies and they are all 0RPM except for Fan #1.

Has anyone seen anything similar? Wondering if possible a faulty fan or Commander Pro.

UPDATE: Plugged the same fan into different fan port, and could successfully control the RPM - so the issue is not with the fan.

  5. Hi All,

Have any of you used any Non-Transparent/Opaque White coolants in your Hydro X loop?

Here is a list of 'compatible' liquids according to Corsair.

    https://www.corsair.com/eu/en/Categories/Products/Custom-Cooling/Pump-Reservoir/Hydro-X-Series-XD5-RGB-Pump-Reservoir-Combo/p/CX-9040006-WW#cc-compatibility-others

It seems Mayhems Pastel is no longer possible to get - and the other Pastel/Opague liquids that are compatible don't seem to have the best reviews.

EK Cryofuel Solid would have been my next choice after Mayhems Pastel, however it seems this is not compatible according to the above chart.

I'm not too sure why Cryofuel Solid isn't compatible - as from what I can tell there is no aluminum in Hydro X loops.

Does anybody have any recommendations for a white Opaque/Non-Transparent coolant which won't cause issues?

  6. Hey guys! Exciting times ahead with the new 3000 series cards indeed. If you want to be among the first to get more info, you can keep an eye on this page:

Or get an email notification via this link:

Awesome, good to have something to reference! Many thanks for providing those links.

  7. Hi All,

Not sure if Corsair staff read/respond to threads here - but hopefully so!

I'm currently in the process of building a new system, and planning on going full custom Hydro X loop.

I will be trying to get my hands on the Nvidia 3080 Founders Edition once it's released.

Do you think we'll see a Hydro X Water Block for these cards close to the release date?

I know other Water Block vendors have already confirmed that they are working on their blocks for the 30 series, but I haven't seen anything related to Hydro X yet.
