Robadob
Hi, I am having an issue with a new RAM module I bought recently. Currently I am running an Asus A8N-E Deluxe with two CMX512-3200C2PT RAM modules and it's fine. I wanted to upgrade to 2GB of RAM so the obvious option was to buy a 1GB module (and sticking to the same RAM range) so I got a CMX1024-3200PT. Put the new RAM in and bam - nothing. Won't boot. Tried all the possible combinations of the RAM in the three slots to no avail. Tried all the possible combinations of the RAM using one of the 512's and the 1024 and again nothing. Tried the 1024 on its own and it works fine. :sigh!: So, I tried the RAM module on another ASUS motherboard I have (which also has the same set of 512 modules) and the same problem! All of the settings in the bios are set to auto. I tried to boot the PC with just the 512 modules in and the CL set to 3 (manually) and it wouldn't boot... Will these two RAM modules not work together at all? Is it an Asus motherboard issue? If it is then can anyone recommend a 1024 module that will work? Help! Thanks, Robin
