RM850E with 2xPCIE 8 pins cable to 12VHPWR not powering up an Asus ROG TUF 4070Ti Super

Recommended Posts

Hello.

As title say, I'm connecting a RM850e to the 4070TI super and it's not going through POST, with the bios telling me there is no VGA detected. The rest of the relevant hardware is

Z690-A D4 Asus ROG Gaming

Intel 12700k

M.2 Samsung 980

The first red flag was that the card itself didn't come with an adapter for the 12vhpwr connector, so I had to upgrade my PSU to something that has that cable. After buying the RM850e as it was a recommended PSU from Corsair for the 4070ti Super, I'm plugging everything in, reseated many times but still no go. The RGB led on the card is powering up, so I'm guessing that some voltage is reaching but the fans are not spinning, and on top of the 12VHPWR connector there are no white leds (I think that's an indicator that the power is not reaching, or is not enough).

I'm sending the card for testing to a local support to tell me if it's DOA or if it's a cable problem, but for all of you, is the above configuration correct? Should the PSU properly supply the GPU directly with the 2xPCIE 8 pins to 12VHPWR cable without an adapter?

See the pictures uploaded: One that shows no led above the 12vhpwr connector and the other that shows the rgb led on the gpu on but no fan spinning.

Thanks
