dudecat64
Ok i just got back a set of ddr2 xms ram from rma. My evga 780I sli board shows only 3 stick installed? I have two 2gig and two 1gig installed. It shows only 5gb instead of 6gb. Could one stick be bad right out of the box brand new?

clarc
I ran 1100MHz RAM on an n780i with a Q9550 at 4GHz. So this kind of setup can work well. You can get quite a good performance increase by running higher RAM speeds, but only if the rest of your system is good enough to make use of it. In other words, if the RAM is causing a bottleneck, increasing its speed will improve performance. Not rocket science, really!
