They can do better and for people to tell them that is constructive criticism. They most certainly do not need you to defend them. Even more to the point, you do not even run windows 8.1 and are not affected by the issue, yet here you are, arguing on an issue that you are not even affected by.

You Sir, are becoming what is known on the internet as a Troll.
I seriously object to your categorization of me, it is personally insulting. If you have any personal experience in software development, which I doubt, please describe it here. Otherwise I am sorry but you have no idea what you are talking about and are just acting as a petulant child!

But did Microsoft guarantee that from the preview? No they did not. I stand by the analogy.

And finally "skylined" My first name is Graham, my last name is Bland, hence my user name. I am proud of my heritage and what my parents chose to name me, hence you will always see me using my real name in forums such as this.

I apologise to other users of this forum for this exchange, but this goes beyond what I find acceptable.

Graham I am sorry you find it offensive to be called an internet troll, but that is exactly what you are doing.

In relation to software development experience I have worked in the industry for almost 20 years now, this being my adult working life. Not as long as you, but what I would class at my young age as a enough to qualify me to discuss software development and delivery issues. My jobs have included Software developer, technical lead, Solutions Architect, Enterprise Architect, Consultant and IT Manager in that time.

My comment that you responded to was born of two thing, first my frustration as a customer and secondly as someone with IT delivery knowledge.

I agree with you that there was some uncertainty on what would be the final Microsoft release but this is a numbers game, if Corsair were serious they could have been working on a build for 8.1 using the preview for the last several months. Then when the final 8.1 was released they would be ready to go if nothing changed and if something did then they would be most likely 80 - 90% there. It was only a remote possibility that they would be back at square one. So from a management perspective not a wasted effort on their part. But in saying this I do not know what their internal resource structure or constraints are so do not have enough information to argue either way if this was possible or not and for that matter NEITHER DO YOU.

So stop TROLLING Graham.

i think both of you should refrain regarding this, theres nothing to be gained and has nothing to do with a support topic.
also name calling is prohibited and when registering this was agreed upon.

Last post on this, but I must ask are Mone and skylined the same person under different identities? If so why? And in my posts I have I believe repeatedly said I do not have any connection with Corsair and so have no idea what their resources are, and do not have enough information to make a complete argument.
"so do not have enough information to argue either way if this was possible or not and for that matter NEITHER DO YOU.

So stop TROLLING Moone or skyline who ever you are. "

THE END
