Corsair Vengeance 1500 V2 Sound Quality and Crackling Issue.

I recently RMA'd my old V1 headset, and in return they sent me a new pair of the V2's. Ever since I've had them I haven't able to tune them to sound near as good as the V1's. I'm using the 1.1 drivers due to the fact that all of the new ones sound like I'm listening through a rusty tin can. The bass in the headset is majorly over glorified, and the mids and highs sound terrible no matter how I adjust the sliders in the control panel. Also in games I'll hear a slight crackling noise in either one or both sides. Any ideas on what I could do to fix this?

UPDATE: I have found a relatively happy medium, and managed to tune some windows setting to cut the bass down a notch. Although I still have issues with crackling while in game. Thanks for the new headset Corsair! The service I received was great! Although I wish you guys would give us a properly working driver for the headset.
