I have a brand new ax1600i that passes self test, but once its connected to a motherboard it shuts off after 1 second and red solid led light turns on.
Tested on 2 different brand new motherboards and same thing happens, I used 2 other evga psu's one 1300w G2 and one brand new 1600W T2 and both motherboards turn on right away.
Tried pretty much everything I could think off, with cpu, 1 stick of ram and even without cpu, no ram and same results. But with the evga psu's and bare mobo's no cpu, no ram, the mobos show error code 00 which is indicating no cpu and that mobos and evga psu's are working perfectly fine.
So I thought maybe its the 15 AMP wall socket and 1600w is exceeding this or there is some mechanism inside the AX1600i that detects some issue with the wiring or grounding, so I tested this with EVGA 1600w and no issues at all, computer is on running for hours now.
So could the AX1600i be DOA even tho it passes self test? :(
Or maybe the 24pin or 8pin mobo cables are faulty/crossed?
I am posting this in forums because customer service hasnt responded to me for 3 days so perhaps I might get a faster response from the community here. :)
Thanks!
